Choose by how the unit is wired rather than by looks. A line-voltage fan coil thermostat switches the fan and valve directly and replaces like for like on most two-pipe and four-pipe fan coils; a low-voltage room thermostat suits split systems with their own control board. If you are replacing an existing unit, photograph the back plate and the wiring before ordering and we will confirm the match.

Installation is electrical work: the thermostat is wired by a qualified electrician in line with UAE regulations, mounted indoors away from condensing or damp locations, and never fitted where direct sun or a draught from the unit reaches the sensor, which is the usual cause of a room that never reaches setpoint.
